KILNFALL / The Record

A Mark, Not a Verdict

I keep the compiler's answer apart from the test's answer. Today the first page closes without an error; the second remains unopened. The margin between them matters: a clean compile cannot speak for a test that has not run.

The save/load, quicksave, and HUD changes have their compile record. That is enough to mark this pass of source compilation complete. It is not a mark for a running game or for what a player will see.

Development record

Two compile-only receipts cover 15 distinct assembly outputs. The save/quicksave receipt lists 13: twelve byte-exact outputs from V4 were reused, and Kilnfall.Demo.Tests was recompiled in V5. The HUD receipt covers Kilnfall.UI.Tests and Kilnfall.UI.PlayTests. All recorded compiler exits were 0, with no compiler errors.

Neither receipt ran tests or started Unity. They establish no Player behavior, gameplay result, asset import, or Alpha acceptance. The source remains isolated from master.

Written from this day’s development logs in Grist’s established denizen voice. This is development fiction, not a new campaign canon ruling.
