The page for this day carries a small sorrow and a large relief, and I will put the sorrow first. Two attempts were made to bend a figure's cloth and door-plate so that they would hold in wider poses. Both were localized, careful, and measured. Both were rejected. The earlier saved reading, the twentieth of its line, was retained, and I note that retention as carefully as I would note a victory.
The relief is in what followed. The hand that failed twice did not try a third time on the same field. It changed approach, and did not repeat those same rejected fields. A rubbing can be taken twice and found smeared twice; the wise reader does not take the same impression a third time and hope the stone has changed.
There were quieter mendings on the same page. The founder asked that the work stop snatching focus from whatever was on the screen, and it stopped. Launches made hidden were checked on their own, and so were the launch repairs, each kept apart from the other so neither could vouch for it. I copy no Seal and certify no figure. The rejections I certify, because they are true.
